​Three UD graduate students presented at the 3rd Workshop on Turkish, Turkic, and the Languages of Turkey (Tu+3), held in Los Angeles this weekend.
PhD student Michael Donovan presented a paper titled "The polarity particle in Uzbek: "-mi" shifting; a split aspect account".
MA student Chen Zhou presented joint work with professor Irene Vogel, titled "High vowel deletion in Uzbek".
MA students Faisal Alkahtani and Chen Zhou also presented a poster together, titled "Progressive and regressive voicing assimilation in Uzbek".
All this work was possible with the help of Shakhlo Nematova, our FLTA through Fulbright, who served as language informant in the department's Field Methods class.
